Governors Information - Including Welcome from Chair of Governors
Welcome to Rock Ferry Primary School from the Chair of Governors.
I am proud to welcome you to Rock Ferry Primary School on behalf of the governing board. My name is Jennie Richmond. I have been Chair of Governors for the past three years and will continue to lead the governing board during the coming year.
The Governing Board is a group of volunteers who work in partnership with the Headteacher and staff to oversee the work of the school and to help provide high quality education and experiences for all its pupils. Our group is made up of the Headteacher, other staff from the school, parents, and governors from the local community.
We meet regularly as a whole body and on sub-committees to help us fulfil our responsibilities for high standards of achievement and attainment and the strategic management of the school. In addition to these meetings, we are welcomed into school by our Headteacher, Sara Radley, for regular visits. These visits allow us to join in with activities, meet children, parents and staff and get to know ‘the life of the school’ so that we can give well informed support in our role as governors.
My professional background is in education. I have taught in primary schools, secondary schools and worked in adult education. I have also been an English Adviser and Consultant in two different education authorities.
Wirral has been my home for many years and I know the Rock Ferry area well. I am married with four grown up children, three of whom were educated at Wirral schools and I also have two grandchildren. My other interests include cycling, walking, and choral singing as well as reading and writing fiction.
I am looking forward in the coming year to working with the governing body and our Headteacher, Sara Radley, to continue to help our children to have a happy time and an excellent education at Rock Ferry Primary School.
Chair of Governors.
